Life is complicated, is it not? Add money to the picture and things get downright overwhelming. In previous decades, people often worked for the same company for most of their lives, lived a few years in retirement on Social Security and their pensions, and passed modest estates on to their children.
That picture has drastically changed with increased longevity, changing demographics, and a more complex and volatile financial world. Now, most people lose sleep over how they’re going to make everything work. Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be this way.
At Bridgerland Financial, we strive to give our clients confidence as we create customized strategies that bridge the gap between work and retirement.
What We Do
There’s a lot of confusion surrounding finances and knowing who to turn to for help, but when it comes down to it, we believe that our clients need an advocate, not a salesperson. We strive to always be on your side of the table and use our 20-plus combined years of experience to guide you through your financial decisions, with full transparency and no hidden fees.
We also believe in helping our clients pursue their dreams and retire so they don’t have to worry about where their next paycheck is coming from. We believe people are smart and can make their own informed decisions when properly educated.
We carry out our mission of helping you successfully transition from the workforce to retirement by using the latest financial techniques, solutions, and one-on-one education and advice. Whether you need retirement planning, investment management, long-term care planning, or estate planning, our full-service, fee-based firm can help.
How We Work
We create personalized and specific financial roadmaps for your journey to retirement and beyond. In addition to the roadmap, federal employees will receive a personalized FERS analysis to help you understand your retirement benefits. And for those who are within 10 years of retirement, we provide a personalized retirement income plan to show you how to properly withdraw from your retirement accounts to create a steady income throughout your retirement.
Our holistic, three-stage process is customized to your unique situation and goes beyond the numbers. We know that a fulfilling retirement involves more than just having enough money to live on. That’s why we look at the four key non-financial areas of health and nutrition, self-identity, personal relationships, and social engagement, asking questions like, “Will I have enough friends to spend time with?” or “Will I be healthy enough to enjoy my golden years?”
With that as our foundation, we turn to the numbers, taking a comprehensive approach that looks at your financial situation, yes, but also financial events that could have a significant impact on your nest egg, such as market fluctuations or receiving an inheritance. Finally, we turn our attention to those you love, organizing your estate so that all your critical information is in one place and properly documented for your heirs or caretakers.
And, of course, we walk with you through every life transition you experience, making sure that your plan is on track no matter what curveballs life throws your way. The end result? A road map to provide the direction for your journey to retirement and beyond and a confidence in your future that you can’t put a price on.
Who We Serve
We focus our time and attention on three specific groups of people so that we can serve them best. Namely federal employees who need help navigating their benefits, those in the Retirement Red Zone (5-10 years from retirement), and business owners. Regardless of their differences in age and profession, our clients have one thing in common: they don’t just want to know if they can retire, they want to know how to retire well. That’s what our unique financial planning process and tailored strategies help them pursue.
The Bridgerland Financial Difference
There are a lot of financial advisors out there. But there’s also a lot about Bridgerland Financial that sets us apart from the rest. For one, financial planning always comes first. We design personalized plans for our clients before we ever talk about investments because we believe it is important to understand their entire life picture before we move forward with changes. Second, we don’t just help our clients grow their money and hope for the best; we provide detailed, well-thought-out plans for how and when to draw money from their retirement accounts to help maximize their savings while also living the life they want. Finally, we truly see our clients as family. We care about them and their well-being, putting them first and striving to be a support and a guide, making sure we simplify and clarify the retirement process so they can spend their time doing what they love.
